SUMMER HIKING ADVENTURE TOUR IN ISRAEL

ITINERARY
Join us for an exciting and beautiful winter hiking tour in Israel
Day 1-3 THE DESERT
We begin our incredible journey in Eilat, the southern most point in Israel with a 3-day hiking adventure in the Eilat Mountains, home to the Aravah Desert. We begin in the Red Canyon, hiking in a geological time machine, jumping hundreds of millions of years each step we take. For the next three days our eyes will enjoy a kaleidoscope of colors as we walk through canyons, colorful valleys and breathtaking mountains. On our final day we'll hike downhill from the mountains to view the incredibly beautiful Red Sea and enjoy a lovely swim in the Coral Beach National Park where we can enjoy the most amazing snorkeling in the world: an underworld playground of gorgeous coral and fascinating colorful sea life. We enjoy a well-deserved night in our hotel in Eilat. Overnight: Americana Hotel
Day 4 THE DESERT
Today we enjoy a day of fun as we make our way to a geological wonderland, Timna National Park. Here we'll view the incredible sandstone columns dubbed, Solomon's Pillars. We'll view "The Mines of Time," a wonderful multi-media presentation where kings, pharaohs and queens come alive to tell the incredible 3000 year history. We'll then make our way to Mizpe Ramon to view the Ramon Crater and spend the night in the crater in a Bedouin tent. Overnight: Be'erot Beouin Hospitality
Day 5 + 6 THE DESERT
Today, we begin an extraordinary, once in a lifetime experience when we begin our walk in the Mahtesh in the direction of the Aravah Valley, the beginning of an amazing two day hike along the Spice Route of the mysterious Nabateans, a nomadic trip who migrated from Arabia during the 6th century BCE and who were exceptionally skilled traders. Our second night will be spent in camp Metzad Nekarot, an ancient Nabatean Chan. Here we will be met by a warm campfire, delicious hot food, tents and sleeping bags. We continue on through the Arava Valley to Nahal Nekarot where we see a geological phenomenon of cracks formed through the mountains. At the end of this phenomenal two day adventure, we make our way to the Dead Sea Region. Overnight: Masada Guest House
Day 7 THE DESERT
The day will begin in Anatot, the biblical village of Jeremiah the prophet. The hike begins with one of the most gorgeous canyons the Judean Desert has to offer, Wadi Qelt. We begin by descending down the cliff to find the 4th century Monastery of Haritun hugging on the side of the cliff. We pass a 2nd century aqueduct and finally reach St. George Monastery. We also visit the oldest synagogue in the world. At the end of the day we will continue on to Jerusalem
Day 8 JERUSALEM
Today we will enjoy a walking tour in Jerusalem. The tour ends here.
