Winter Desert Tour Dec 29 2010 - Jan 7 2011 The desert tour will take place in the golden red sea triangle of Egypt (Sinai), Israel, and Jordan. In this tour we will explore the desert on 4 wheel drive, camels and foot: the best way to explore the unexplored and magical desert. Jordan: Day 1: We board 4X4 jeeps, driven by professional Bedouin drivers and journey to the sandstone area of Wadi Rum. Here we go off-road into its unique landscape and travel off the beaten track to explore rarely traveled ancient merchant routes. Lunch is enjoyed en route in the great outdoors. We continue off-road through Wadi Rum and by evening reach a Bedouin hospitality camp, where we enjoy our evening meal and settle in for the night in a guest tent. In Rum we have the opportunity to observe the awe-inspiring Arabian night skies and the mysterious and enchanting views of Wadi Rum. Day 2: Early wake up breakfast and we jump on our camels like the Bedouin have done for hundreds of years. We make our way through the desert for a hike up Mt. Rum, the highest mountain in Jordan. Next, we make our way to Wadi Musa, the village of Petra to our hotel. Overnight and dinner: amra palace hotel. Israel: Day 3: Following breakfast with the Bedouins we board our 4X4s and head for the road to Petra. At the modern entrance to the ancient site we leave our vehicles and commence the walk to the imposing Siq Canyon. Here we start a hike of 6 hours off the tourist trail. Overnight: Eilat Day 4: We start an early morning 3 day hike through the Eilat Mountains, starting at the Red Canyon, hiking in a geological time machine jumping hundreds millions of years each step we take. Overnight: under the stars in tents. With a special poyke pot dinner Day 5: We will wake up in the middle of the desert and start walking our way trough hidden canyons, colorful valleys, and breathtaking views of mountains. Overnight: under the stars in tents. With a special matfuna Bedouin dinner Day 6: Early outdoor breakfast and we will hike downhill from the mountains to the Coral Beach National Park, where th mountains kiss the sea and where we can enjoy snorkeling the Red Sea with its amazing coral and sea wild life. Overnight: Eilat Egypt: Day 7: Cross the border to Egypt (Sinai Desert), driving to the village Santa Katherine where we will climb Mt. Musa(Mt. Sinai) where Moses received the 10 commandments. Overnight: by the sea at Ashraf's "outdoor heaven," simple huts by the sea. Day 8-9: Beginning of unforgettable experience: 2 day hiking tour. We hike with small backpacks through the magnificent Red Granite and white sand Mountains of Sinai's low Range. Camel handlers carry all our equipment and supplies and meet us at evening to set up camp. This allows us to carry in our packs only what is necessary for the days hike. We visit en-route beautiful and ancient desert ways, Bedouin orchards, oases, waterfalls and rock pools, all accessible only on foot. The incredible panoramic views of the Red Sea, the south of Sinai Peninsula, and over to Northern Saudi Arabia. We ascend many canyons and summits. We enjoy our last group dinner with delicious fresh fish by the sea. Over night by the sea: at Ashraf's "outdoor heaven." Day 10: Enjoy a morning swimming and snorkeling at the Red sea and departure At the end of the tour option to book a hotel for a few days rest on the beach of the Red Sea in Sinai or Eilat
